From the director of Monkey Business: the Adventures of Curious George's Creators comes a new documentary about sporting tradition in the country that will host the 2020 Olympics.

Baseball is life for the die-hard competitors in the 100th annual Koshien, Japan's wildly popular national high school baseball championship, whose alumni include U.S. baseball star Shohei Ohtani and former Yankee Hideki Matsui. But for Coach Mizutani and his players, cleaning the grounds and greeting their guests are equally important as honing their baseball skills. In director Ema Ryan Yamazaki's dramatic and intimate journey into the heart of the Japanese national character, will those acts add up to victory or prove a relic of the past?

Street Fighting Men

Street Fighting Men
is a cinematic, character-driven nonfiction narrative that speaks to the challenges of our times.

Inspired by the approach of early vérité pioneers, Andrew James spent over three years filming in Detroit, capturing stories as they unfolded. With an emphasis on shot, mood, tone and character, the film is designed to be rich and experiential an emotionally powerful journey into the city's forgotten neighborhoods.

Sunken Roads: Three Generations After D-Day

Sunken Roads tells a story of inter-generational friendship, offering a new perspective on D-Day by presenting the memories of 90-year-old men through the eyes of a 20-year-old woman.

The film follows Charlotte, a young woman who joins eight D-Day veterans on a road trip to retrace their steps from World War II. The veterans come to see Charlotte as a granddaughter, trusting her with their stories and confronting the trauma that still haunts them 70 years after the war.

Confucian Dream

Filmmaker Mijie Li's first feature (she co-produced American Factory) is an observational documentary about a Chinese woman's embrace of the ancient philosophy of Confucianism and how it affects her family.

Chaoyan, a young wife and mother, believes the ancient teachings of Confucianism will restore balance, respect and morality to her home. But her husband finds the daily practice excessive. While Confucianism's primary purpose is to instill peace and harmony, the opposite occurs, bringing forth a gripping portrait of marital and parental crisis.

City Dreamers

Through original interviews, archival material and stunning cinematography, filmmaker Joseph Hillel explores how four trailblazing architects – Phyllis Lambert, Blanche Lemco van Ginkel, Cornelia Hahn Oberlander and Denise Scott Brown – have been observing, thinking about, and working on the transformations shaping the city of today and tomorrow.

As the world becomes increasingly urbanized, the insights of these forward-looking women who have built social and environmental values into their work seem more relevant now than ever.
